SBC Capacity License from Metered License

When deployed on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud computing platform, you can use AudioCodes' Metered License model for licensing your SBC. This licensing model is based on the device's consumption or usage (e.g., call duration in minutes). it offers a pay-as-you-go SBC service without any upfront fees, allowing you to easily adapt and improve responsiveness to changing business needs without over committing budgets. This model is similar to Amazon's On-Demand pricing model, where you are billed monthly based on service consumption. Subscription to this licensing model is done through your AWS Marketplace account.

The device sends periodic reports (every hour) to the AWS billing system, detailing its SBC service consumption in the last hour. The report includes usages, for example, total minutes of all calls, total minutes of transcoding calls, and total minutes of SIPREC calls. Usage is calculated monthly by AWS Marketplace, which it bills to your AWS account.

If the device fails to communicate with the AWS Marketplace (where it sends its usage reports), the device will not accept any new calls and sends an SNMP alarm to indicate this failure.

For setting up the Metered License model, refer to the Mediant Virtual Edition SBC for Amazon AWS Installation Manual, which can be downloaded from AudioCodes website.

The Metered License model is applicable only to Mediant VE when deployed through AWS Marketplace.
When the Metered License is used, the device's other license models (i.e., Fixed License Pool, Floating License, and Flex License) cannot be used.
